Billing Overview

Patients are encouraged to pay for all services on the day of the visit. The insurance companies have asked that we collect your co-pay prior to your visit. Co-pay and all other charges can be paid at the reception desk near the front entrance.  Remember, not all types of visits require a co-pay so be sure to check your insurance policy before your visit.

You will receive a copy of your charge slip when you visit the clinic as it can be a valuable resource when filing your taxes. All statements are prepared and mailed monthly. If you have insurance or Medicare, the Alexandria Clinic, P.A. will extend payment terms up to 90 days in order to provide you with enough time to resolve your insurance claims. A finance charge of 1.33% per month or an annual percentage rate of 13% will be imposed on all balances that reach ninety (90) days past due.

Medical Assistance (MMA)

The Alexandria Clinic does provide services to patients who are covered under Minnesota Medical Assistance, but the patient must present a valid Medical Assistance card at each visit before receiving services. Out-of-state Medical Assistance patients are required to pay for charges at the time of the visit. Please do not hesitate to call our account services department at (320) 763-2585 if you have any difficulty meeting your financial obligations to the clinic.

Uninsured Patients

Alexandria Clinic is committed to improving the health of our patients and reducing the barriers to access for our uninsured patients. A discount of 38% will be offered on all services provided by Alexandria Clinic to patients who are uninsured (unless the service is already discounted). This discount will not apply if you have insurance and owe a deductible or if the service is non-covered by your policy.

To receive the discount, the charges must be paid in full at the time of service. Please make a request at the time of payment to receive the discount. If the provider does not give you a charge ticket when you leave your appointment, the front desk staff will be able to obtain that information for you.

Discounts will not apply to services that are provided at the clinic by outreach providers.

Charges paid on the day of service are subject to change upon review and final processing.  Any additional charges will be billed and a 38% discount will be given if paid within 15 days of the first invoice.
