The Birth Place
The Birth Place at Douglas County Hospital has approximately 650 births per year. The staff at The Birth Place provides a comfortable, family-centered environment, which recognizes the needs of the mother, infant, along with the entire family.
The Birth Place boasts five private labor and delivery rooms and 15 private post partum rooms. Whirlpool tubs occupy four of the five labor and delivery rooms for use during labor and/or delivery. The Birth Place has large spacious waiting rooms for family and friends, with beautiful views.
Other services available include out-patient pre-partum assessment tests, car seat testing for premature infants, universal newborn hearing screening and referrals to outside agencies and support groups as requested.

Visiting Hours for the Birth Place
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
If you are displaying any signs of illness such as a cough or fever, please refrain from visiting until you are well.
