The Birth Place at Douglas County Hospital has approximately 650 births per year. The staff at The Birth Place provides a comfortable, family-centered environment, which recognize the needs of the mother, infant, along with the entire family. The Birth Place consists of five labor and delivery rooms and 15 post partum rooms. Whirlpool tubs occupy four of the five labor and delivery rooms. These tubs can be used during labor and/or delivery. All rooms are private with private bathrooms and tubs. The Birthplace has large spacious waiting rooms with beautiful views.
Other services available include out-patient pre-partum assessment tests, car seat testing for premature infants, universal newborn hearing screening and referrals to outside agencies and support groups as requested.
