The Birth Place at Douglas County Hospital has approximately 650 births per year. The staff at The Birth Place provides a comfortable, family-centered environment, which recognize the needs of the mother, infant, along with the entire family. The Birth Place consists of seven birthing suites, along with three additional hospital rooms.
A water birthing tub is available for mothers to use during labor and/or delivery. Other services available include out-patient pre-partum assessment tests, car seat testing for premature infants, universal newborn hearing screening and referrals to outside agencies and support groups as requested.
