The Birth Place at the Douglas County Hospital has approximately 600 births per year. The staff at The Birth Place provide a comfortable, family-centered environment which recognized the needs of the mother and infant along with the entire family. The Birth Place consists of seven birthing suites along with two additional hospital rooms. A water birthing tub is available for mothers to use during labor and/or delivery. Other services available include out-patient pre-partum assessment tests, car seat testing, universal newborn hearing screens and referrals to outside agencies and support groups as requested.
