Douglas County Hospital now offers a comprehensive pediatric feeding program for children from birth to eighteen years of age who have feeding and eating difficulties. Therapists Chrissy Haugen, OTR/L and Kristin Ostlund, MS, CCC-SLP are trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding. This program integrates sensory, motor, oral, behavioral, medical, and nutritional factors when evaluating and treating children with feeding difficulties. The SOS Approach focuses on teaching children to interact with food in a playful, non-stressful way while leaming the basic rules of eating.
